Cloud Cloak is a wearable device that redefines relationships amongsubject, object and environment. The effect is the transmission of acloud that distorts the subject’s experience of her environment. Thecloud abstracts form into patches of light and color, and it even renderspartially obscure the subject herself, creating a gender-less and racelessbeing that is defined only by her relationship to surrounding objects.

The main concept is provoking new relationship between subject and itssurrounding by using fog. The fog is generated by the wearable machineas an extension of the body. This approach is started from Hedgehog’sdilemma which is an analogy about human intimacy. Hedgehogs seek tobecome close to one another in order to share their body heat, but theyhave to keep a certain distance for their sharp quills. In the same ways, this machine is activated on distance of personal space, and reactsto her environment. For instance, human responds differently with acertain distance such as insecure and confident. This machine createsnon-directional soft cloud as an insecure response, or directional sharpstream as a reaction of confident. These performances affect experienceof spatial consequences.

This machine operates in a specific space in response to the distanceamong people. While a fog trail tracing the movement of human bodyattracts people around the machine, soft cloud provides the other withhesitation as a response to the ambiguous invitation. By using controlledvalve, we can choose a specific nozzle out of two making differentperformance. The selected nozzle emits different type of the fog. Thefog is created by heat exchanger and transferred to the nozzle by airpumps.
